Better Business Support Package

The Better Business Support Package (BBSP) is designed to help businesses in Jersey enhance productivity, invest in employee training, and develop new opportunities in the visitor economy sector. The Government of Jersey are funding the packages to assist employers during the transition to a living wage.   

The Better Business Support Package offers up to 50% matched grant funding for eligible businesses to support various initiatives aimed at improving productivity and skills. With a total of £5.3 million available, this is a fantastic opportunity for Jersey businesses to invest in their future.

We encourage all businesses to start preparing now.

• Review the eligibility criteria to check what you could  apply for once it launches. We encourage you to use our productivity scorecard to identify an area of your business that may need some investment.
• Consider the skills that your business might benefit from to allow it to operate more efficiently? Think about whether there are skills that might help future proof your business and make you more money?
• What processes in your business frustrate you? What grinds your gears? Are you repeating the same process again and again and suspect that there may be a digital solution to your pain point. 
• Whatever you decide to focus on for your grant application you will need to share some info with us – so why not start getting it together:

What you will need:

• • Business licence number (Can be found on your Manpower return)
  • Tax Identification Number (TIN)
  • Board resolution (excluding Sole Traders)
  • Brief project description
  • Itemised list of the project costs 
  • List how you are going to demonstrate that your project will save on, in one, or all of these areas:

• • • Process efficiency  
    • Cost reduction
    • Sales and/or profit 

What you will need:

• • Business licence number (Can be found on your Manpower return)
  • Tax Identification Number (TIN)
  • Annual accounts
  • Management accounts
  • Board resolution (excluding Sole Traders)
  • Brief project description
  • Outline of steps of the project
  • Itemised list of the project costs 
  • List of potential risks to the project being unsuccessful
  • List how you are going to demonstrate that your project will save on, in one or all of these areas:

    • Cost reduction
    • Sales and/or profit
